강세

1. 내용상 중요한 정보를 전달하는 명사와 동사에 강세를 두어 읽는다.
    - If you leave your name and phone number, we will call you back soon.

    - The audition will be held for singers and actors from the ages of 16 to 22.

2. 숫자와 고유명사에 강세를 두어 읽고, 고유명사 발음을 잘 몰라도 크게 읽어야함.
    - Flight 331 to Seoul is now departing from gate 21.
    - Our next stop will be Batten Theater, designed by the architect,
      Sam Batten.

 

3. 부정어는 항상 강제를 두어 읽는다.
    - You willl not be disappointed.
    - Don't be late for the free beverage event.

4. 비교급과 최상급에 강세를 두어 읽는다.
    - This shopping center is the biggest in the city.
    - We promise faster delivery service

5. 요청을 위한 attention, please와 환영과 감사를 위한 welcome과 thank는 문장의
   첫 단어로 자주 사용되며 강세를 두어 읽는다.
    - Attention, passengers.
    - Please press two for directions to our store.
    - Welcome to Nolan Electronic Store.
    - Thank you for calling Kenny's Clothing Shop

6. 복합명사, 명사구에서는 두 단어 모두 강세를 두어서 읽는다.
    - 복합명사(명사 + 명사) :  store map, customer service, book review
    - 명사구(형용사 + 명사) : cheap price, large table, red chair

7. 한정사 All, each, every는 강제를 두어 읽는다.
    - All participants are required to participate in each session

examples)
 - The project will start once the CEO signs the contract.
 - Cannon Avenue will be closed all day for the marketing fair on the 16th
 - Guided tours will begin every hours from 11 A.M to 4 P.M
